Scotland’s Climate Assembly offer ambition

Scotland’s Climate Assembly published their Statement of Ambition, written and approved by the members themselves, as a blue print of how the country could adapt to tackle climate change.

The body brought together people from all walks of life, from across Scotland, to learn about and discuss how society can tackle the world’s biggest challenge. It is under the spotlight again as COP26 begins and expectations grow on the Scottish Government to respond.

“The assembly’s recommendations and conclusions are innovative and ambitious. They are also realistic and achievable — as long as they are matched by political will. Scotland now has a mandate from its people to provide genuine global leadership on climate change,” the Assembly said.
